11th century Norman (England + France as far as the fashion trends go) costume, linen underdress, embroidered woollen overdress and linen coif (made by my friend silvermoonsnake).

My very first historically accurate medieval costume project is finally done and is displayed here at Turku medieval market. All the clothes were made by hand.

Props o you I bow before anyone who hand stitches a garmet I get frustrated enough with how long it takes on a machine. Beautiful dress and I absolutely love the embroidery. It was time well spent :-D

Thank you. Strangely enough I find hand-stitching more relaxing than using a machine, because I usually do some horrible mistake and then have to take the seams apart and do it all again.
